Ian's story

Ian's sister made a Christmas decoration.

She used one of Ian's projects to make it.

It had a picture of Ian on a heart.

Ian loved to spool knit and had a project on the go when he passed away. His sister decided to make a keep sake of the unfinished project and added a little green wool and holly to make a Christmas wreath. Ian previously cut out several wooden hearts so one was used on the wreath.

Ian liked to make things.

He liked to work with wood.

He often sold what he made.

Ian enjoyed doing woodwork with his bandsaw, cutting out different shapes, of swans and spoon racks, then stained them to make them complete. Ian also loved to cover coat hangers and received much joy and satisfaction when he sold them for a loonie each. It finally clicked one day and he told his Uncle Don, "A million hangers - a million loonies."
